York College Rock Band (with opening guests: School of Rock House Band)

Come out to hear The YC Rock Band this Friday at 7:30 pm in the Waldner Performing Arts Center! The concert will open with the York area School of Rock House Band followed by York College's own YC Rock Band, and will feature a wide variety of music from The Rolling Stones, Stone Temple Pilots, The Doobie Brothers, Fall Out Boy, and more! The Department of Visual and Performing Arts welcomes the community to enjoy this free concert. No advance ticketing is required.

Come enjoy an evening of classic rock with the York College Rock Band! Students will perform music by Ozzy (with a tribute), Black Sabbath, Rush, Heart, Tears for Fears, Foreigner, and many more!

Hello Friends!

This week, York College will be hosting the 3rd Annual York Summer Music Academy (YSMA), a collaborative endeavor, with artistic and administrative leadership from the York College of Pennsylvania and the York Symphony Orchestra. We will be hosting 47 music students between grades 7-12. These students will work with our faculty in a variety of settings: large ensembles, chamber music ensembles, lessons, studio classes, and a wide range of enrichment courses.

In addition, we will be presenting three concerts that are free and open to the public (to be held in DeMeester Recital Hall inside of Wolf Hall):

Sun., 6/23 (TODAY), 4:00 pm: Faculty Recital (program attached)

Wed., 6/26, 3:00 pm: Nicolas Bourdoncle (guest artist) - Solo Piano Recital

Fri., 6/28, 1:00 pm: Final All-Academy Concert - this is when the students will perform the music they've been working on all week!

It promises to be a fantastic week, full of music-making, learning, and FUN. Please join us for these public performances!

What an honor to share the stage with the amazing faculty of the York Summer Music Academy. We’ve got a great group of kids with us this year, and it will be a fun and inspiring week of music making!

We're Back! York College Winds and Voices returned on May 24 from a successful music tour of Eastern Europe!

33 YC students, alumni and faculty performed three concerts and explored the beautiful cities of Prague, Vienna and Budapest.
