Patella positioning

Doctor: ā you have lived with this all your life, your patella position wonāt be able to changeā
Me: ā stop theš§¢āā¦. 1 hour later and patella positioning is already looking much better

grim has full ROM knee flexion. But just because she has full ROM, doesnāt mean she is doing it properly

When the hips are dumped forward ( anteriorly oriented) the femurs turn in and create a coupling of IR downstream. The Patella/knee is dumb. Here, it is faced inwards cause the femur is twisting inwards. Since the patella is a floating bone and it attaches to the quad and patellar tendon, It orients itself the same way its attachments are facing. The structures that are proximal and distal to the knee joint will tell you a story

7 weeks into our strength training results! We just finished phase 1 (3weeks) and just started phase 2 ( the start of our 4th week). Had a few weeks where we had to go back to phase 1 because of being away so our numbers are looking really really good considered we havenāt gone through our second phase yet. We have about 10 weeks of programming left to get through

Not only are these his current numbers, but he also feels healthier than ever. His back and knee pain are gone, and if workload increases, we have strategies to reduce/mitigate these issues. This is why I went back to get board certified in Athletic Training. Performance means very little without being healthy, the best athlete is an available one. To be in a gym that has Sports Performance, Sports Medicine, and Sports Science all in one house to give a holistic approach to training is the way to go

I used to watch his videos in grad school, was amazing to be able to see someone who advocates so much for the ATC profession and the pursuit of excellence. His quote āI built this because I needed this 25 years agoā really resonated with me and BMM and my passion to give everyone the absolute best here

With being 6ā8, thatās a lot of leg length to be able to control over an excursion of range. A lot of people will try to program around that, and donāt get too expose their athletes to these deeper ranges of motion with load, and I definitely think that there are a lot of strength gains left on the table because of it. Additionally, thereās a lot of people out there that think that some people structurally are never able to access a deep squat. Sounds like a cop out for not knowing how to be strategic. It takes patience, consistency, and ex*****on.

One of my goals is for my athletes to be college ready in the weight room. Just because you can squat, doesnāt mean that you do it well or appropriately. Details matter. And Ben, is gonna be a stud on the court, and in the weight room

We have our correctives to restore hip ROM, prep work to break through the sticking point, then loading strategically within these new found ranges to let these changes stick

First weekend back playing live after we got cleared for her ACL and she picks up an offer from Fordham⦠talk about A BEAST. And playing a year up on the UAA circuit

Now working on her shot, DAY 1 of altering her release. Already looking a lot smoother, still layers to add, build on, and reinforce. Gonna be a huge summer for the kid here in the BMM Lab!!
