Last Friday, York College of Pennsylvania at The Stabler Department of Nursing we had the pleasure of hosting Tim Zellers Chief Nursing Officer at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. We were proud to showcase the Stabler Department of Nursing, including our simulation and skills labs, and highlight the innovative learning experiences we provide to our students.
We also had an engaging and meaningful conversation about how our two institutions can collaborate to support the development of both new and current members of the nursing workforce.
It was an inspiring visit, and we look forward to building a strong partnership that advances nursing education and practice while strengthening our communities.

As we begin a new semester, our nursing faculty gathered for an in-service meeting to prepare to support and engage our nursing students. The day started with a welcome from Dean Dr. John and Department Chair Dr. Klaudia Lewis, followed by meaningful professional development sessions. We were particularly pleased to welcome Samm Smeltzer, DMQ, M.Ed., SHRM-CP, PHR, our invited external guest speaker, who presented on the timely and important topic of "Understanding Burnout, Balance, and Care" as we enter a new academic term.
Faculty also participated in sessions focused on outcomes assessment, competency-based assessment, best practices in exam development, and curriculum mapping. Additionally, faculty met with Senate President Dr. Ed Westen for a brief, engaging Q&A on shared governance and collaboration. A Lunch & Learn session with the F.A. Davis Spring Representative highlighted valuable resources to support teaching and enhance student success.
Through collaboration and a commitment to continued professional growth, our nursing faculty are energized and ready to welcome students and support their success this semester.

York College Nursing Proudly Supports Katallasso Family Health Center
Nursing faculty were humbled and honored to support Katallasso Family Health Center, a local clinic providing free primary and preventive care to some of the most vulnerable members of York County, during the fundraising legacy dinner.
Through clinical experiences at Katallasso, our nursing students learn the true meaning of service, giving back to the community, advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves, and understanding the heart of compassionate care.
Together, we’re building a healthier, stronger York!

Ezra and Hamilton failed to scare these nursing students. When you start clinicals, there’s little that scares you.
