EmpowerHER wrapped up another summer of hands-on STEM learning at York College!
Girls entering grades 7–9 spent three days at the Kinsley Engineering Center exploring renewable energy, robotics, drones, physics and more while connecting with faculty, industry partners and college students.
We loved seeing their curiosity, creativity and confidence in action.
Supported by the Constellation Energy to Educate Grant Program.

Marketview Arts has long been a place where York College and the downtown York community come together through art, learning, and creative collaboration.
Now, that work is being recognized. Marketview Arts has been named a finalist for Downtown Inc’s Cultural Catalyst Award at the upcoming Downtown First Awards.
The nomination celebrates the gallery’s role in bringing exhibitions, workshops, student studio spaces, and public programming to York’s historic Market District.

There’s something special about watching students explore what their future could look like. 💚
This summer marked the second year of Spartan Prep, giving high school students the chance to experience hands-on learning in nursing, engineering, biology, criminal justice and more at YCP.
We’re excited to see this program continue to grow and create meaningful opportunities for students.

A career pivot led Kirsten Blair-Johnson ’18 to a new kind of purpose.
After building a career in human resources, Kirsten’s own healing journey helped her discover yoga, meditation, and a new way to support others. Today, she is the owner of Yoga with KBJ, LLC located right up the street from York College.
Her studio was recently voted Best Yoga Studio in the York and Hanover 2026 Community Choice Awards, a recognition that reflects the community she is building through wellness, connection, and care.
“It’s okay to pivot,” Kirsten said.
