Meet Mr. Hawbaker and 11th–12th grade! This year, we explored more than 250 years of American history, with one highlight being our visit to the African American Museum in Washington, DC.
In American Literature, we studied Nathaniel Hawthorne’s symbolism, Washington Irving’s folklore, O. Henry’s irony, the groundbreaking poetry of Anne Bradstreet and Phillis Wheatley, and the gripping gothic writing of Edgar Allan Poe and William Faulkner—along with many other influential authors and works.

Meet 9th–10th grade and Miss MacKenzie! You’ll often find them on the volleyball court 🏐, bringing their energy to the game. We’re so grateful for the way they used that same energy and skill to help plan and execute Family Fun Night!
Some recent highlights: baking pizookies 🍪 and taste-testing (and rating) some pretty odd snacks—mozzarella chips, blueberry lemonade Swedish Fish, cupcake pretzels…

Hello from 5th grade!
On Monday mornings, you may find us chit-chatting about our weekend. On Tuesdays, we listen intently to our guest speaker in chapel. We love Wednesdays, when we gather together for choir. Thursday mornings can be fun sometimes (if we remember what we studied for Bible memory). At last, it’s Friday, when Mr. Burkholder reminds us of our school goal: to be focused, global servants.
One of our favorite things to do as a class is listen to Mr. Parson’s stories from his childhood or previous jobs. Miss Angela is a fun history teacher who has a way of making the study of other countries enjoyable. Lunchtime always welcomes us with some scrumptious food! Miss Gwen always finds new, creative ways to teach us science.
All in all, 5th grade is a fun place to be. We get tired of learning and working hard, but we know our education is very important!

Greetings from 4th grade! We like walks, fairy tales, ping pong, and puzzles. We are learning about predicate adjectives and predicate nominatives, counting back change, and South America.
