The Sylvia Theater in Downtown (27 N. Congress St. York, SC 29745) offers FREE admission to children’s movies at 3pm and 6pm on Mondays. Today (8/24/26) they will show Hoppers and next Monday (8/31/26) they will show Little Mermaid (2023). This is a great/affordable way to spend time with your little one while using communication and language skills to discuss what you are seeing and the storyline but also a great way to teach theatre etiquette and build your child’s stamina to sustain to a long task. You can also connect with other families within York School District One. Happy Engaging!

Here at the Building Hope for Children Conference collaborating, learning, growing, and sharing with other family focused agencies all over SC. Thankful for Children’s Trust of SC for creating a purposeful conference so that we can be intentional in our journey with families and children on the path to prevention and hope.

We had a great time at our YSD1 Wheels in Motion Event Friday, July 31st. We are so thankful for partners like Metrolina Greenhouses who brought a car full of donated school supplies to give to families along with supplying 2 volunteers to hand out those supplies during our event. We are also grateful for Affinity Health Center for giving out bags with school supplies and Affinity information and Tender Hearts Ministries for passing out giveaways to families in attendance. We love being connected as ONE!

Join us on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 9am-2pm at Parenting Partnerships to sign up for our Parent as Teachers program and work directly with a certified Parent Educator for families with children prenatal to 4 years old. You can drop in an see our location, meet our Parent Educators, and sign up to participate in our PAT program. If you are not sure if you want to sign up or not and just want to come learn more, please feel free. We want to walk with you through child development!
