It’s the final week of Greyhound Summer Camp, and we’re wrapping things up with the ultimate Great Camp Challenge Week! 🎉

Our campers are staying busy from morning to night, cooling off with epic team water challenges 💦, lighting up the room during glow-in-the-dark Just Dance parties 🪩, getting creative (and delicious!) with Chef Javan for homemade pizza making 🍕, jumping sky-high in the bounce houses 🏰 and so much more!

Big news on the block! 🎨✨ We are thrilled to share our continued partnership with DreamWrights Center for Community Arts! Together, we have brought a vibrant new mural to the side of their iconic yellow building.

This incredible project was brought to life during our Greyhound Summer Camp, where amazing YCDS teacher Jeannine Dabb guided a talented group of student artists. Working together, Jeannine and our students created individual pieces of art that blend into a stunning, larger-than-life underwater scene. Then at the very top, you will spot a special tribute to our mascot: a greyhound leaping gracefully over the strawberry moon! 🌕🐾

Titled "Waves of Veritas," the mural draws its name from the YCDS motto, Veritas, which is Latin for "truth." It stands as a celebration of creativity, ongoing collaboration, and community spirit. 🌊🐠

Our campers took center stage this week for Performing Arts Week, and it was one for the books! 🎬✨

We took a trip downtown to the stunning Appell Center for the Performing Arts for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of this historic landmark. 🏛️ Campers got to explore parts of the theater most people never get to see!

The Appell Center team led our group through some awesome interactive theater workshops, from improv games and character building to learning how stage magic really happens. 🎤
