Evolution is defined as the accumulation of changes that have occurred slowly over long periods. The process of evolution, if allowed to continue until completion, will likely result in the creation of a new species.
Consider:
Animals like snakes and lizards in urban environments have developed faster responses to threats, while some birds, like cliff swallows, have evolved shorter wings to avoid traffic.
Reflect:
Is there a need for me to develop a faster response to avoid an undesired outcome with stakeholders, to build relationships with parents/families, or maybe to alleviate being jammed up by the work/life shuffle? Do I need to shorten the list of items/people that I deem necessary to move forward with the work?

PTR (Part 2)
PTR is a way to categorize the statements/actions of others during interactions. First, lets look at the P in PTR. The P stands for preference, and is connected to one's personal desire. The T is a tough one, because it is deep rooted in the individual's belief system. The T stands for tradition, this category is usually for individuals who are use to doing things based on routine, habit, comfort. Lastly, R is the one that causes the most recoil...it stands for requirement. Can you guess why this causes the most challenge for leaders/coaches?
When meeting with others to discuss important information, remember to remove any pre-conceived notions or biases that may limit your effectiveness and limit your ability to be impactful. Listening to identify PTR during interactions with others that you lead/coach can be the most valuable tools you have in your toolbox.

Coaching the Coach: PTR Introduction
Wondering why you receive pushback...
While establishing relationships with staff it is always important to gain an understanding of how they make decisions. This information is essential when leading/coaching someone in an area in which they don't feel that they have a deficit. Often the individual's reaction can be placed in three categories: preference, tradition, or requirement. Although some may present with a combination of the three, there is usually one area the person will rely on when being rigid.
