Congratulations to Mrs. Landis’ 5th grade class! They were our 1st place winners in the 2026 Ziplining STEAM Cup Challenge, with a flying basket soaring across the auditorium in 6.3 seconds and weighing in at 8.7 grams.

Congratulations to all the STEAM teams. Your tenacity to collaborate and stick to the challenge to make improvements all along the way was superb! Your excitement to go back and modify your design was inspiring. Teams watched, listened and learned from each other. We have some future engineers in the house!

We held our annual STEAM Cup Challenge and this years theme was Ziplining. We would like to thank our presenters Gabriel and Kellie from 3 Monkeys Inflatables for sharing their expertise to kick off our challenge. Students returned to classrooms prepared to work together to design, construct and test their own apparatus to see who could transport a marshmallow safely across the auditorium with the fastest time and least weight.
It was a great day of collaboration as creative problem solving!!

STEAM showed up with team spirit, and we know it was tough to judge. We all had fun. A special shout out to our student members: Nema, Charlotte and Jericho. They were locked IN! Thank you for joining us. Breakfast will be served… more to come 🥞
