A New Tribute Celebrates Retired Docents.

Celebrating a legacy of service at the Nixon Library a new plaque in the Docent Lounge honors the Docent Retirees. It has a place of honor beneath the portrait of Richard Nixon (painted by Docent Rosemary Tuthill.)

Initiated by former VP Membership and current Auxiliary Chair Marilee Littlefield the plaque honors the first Docents to enter the official Retirement Program initiated in January of 2025. Most of these Retirees have many more than 10 years of dedicated service. Nixon Presidential Library and Museum

PART OF THE PAST AND THE FUTURE.
The Nixon Library iconic helicoptor is shown here on Monday as it was prepared to take the next step in its future. The Sikorsky VH-3A “Sea King” that transported President Nixon on 181 missiions (and three other presidents) will spend the next two years being restored to its former glory before being returned to the Library as the centerpiece of the new civics education center being constructed on the Yorba Linda Library grounds. It is being restored at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside.

As part of an initiative to advance American citizenship, education and literacy, the new Center for American Civics Education will house interactive educational programs, including a
situation room for eighth-grade students to roleplay a contemporary issue alongside their peers.
