During teacher training, our teachers and staff spent two days learning, practicing, and engaging in Socratic Seminar!
At CRLA, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens through thoughtful questions, active participation, and meaningful group discussion. We encourage our teachers to create classrooms where students are not only learning from their teachers, but also learning from one another.
We’re proud to equip our staff with the tools and practices that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning.

Today we celebrate International Day of Friendship!
At our school, friendship is about more than spending time together—it's about growing in virtue. Through kindness, respect, courage, honesty, and service, our students learn that strong friendships are built on good character.
A classical education teaches students to seek truth, cultivate wisdom, and treat others with dignity. As they learn together, serve one another, and encourage each other to become their best selves, they form friendships that can last a lifetime.
Here's to the classmates who inspire us, support us, and make learning even more meaningful. Happy International Day of Friendship!

Meet Our Principal: Mrs. Brittany Rineer
With 15 years of experience spanning Preschool through High School, Mrs. Rineer has dedicated her career to helping every student discover their potential. After earning both her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Hope International University, she followed her passion for serving students by founding a thriving TK–12 private school focused on individualized learning, leadership development, and ensuring every child had access to a quality education.
Over the past eight years, she has also partnered with charter schools, supporting students through 504 Plans, SSTs, and state assessments. Her passion for classical education is rooted in the belief that students flourish when they are taught to serve, learn, and lead with virtue, wisdom, and critical thinking.
📖 Favorite Book: The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes
Mrs. Rineer loves this timeless story because it reminds us of the importance of compassion, courage, and kindness. Its message encourages students to stand up for others with grace rather than simply following the crowd—a lesson that reflects the virtues we strive to cultivate every day at CRLA.

Virtue doesn't take a summer vacation
While classrooms may be quieter during the summer, opportunities to grow in character are everywhere. Whether it's showing respect by helping a sibling, practicing perseverance while learning a new skill, choosing responsibility through daily chores, or demonstrating kindness to a neighbor, every day offers a chance to strengthen the virtues that shape strong leaders.
At CRLA, we believe education extends beyond the classroom. We encourage our students to continue living out the virtues they've practiced all year long, preparing their hearts and minds for another year of learning, leadership, and service.
How is your family practicing virtue this summer? We'd love to hear in the comments!

Happy National Ice Cream Day!
Did you know that ice cream has a sweet place in American history? George Washington was known to enjoy the frozen treat, and Thomas Jefferson even brought back a recipe for vanilla ice cream after serving in France—one of the earliest recorded ice cream recipes in the United States.
As we celebrate this favorite summertime tradition, we're reminded that even the simple joys of life can connect us to our nation's past. At a classical education school, we believe history isn't just found in textbooks—it's woven into the traditions, stories, and everyday moments that continue to bring people together.
Here's to learning from the past, making memories in the present, and enjoying a scoop of history along the way!
