Recently, fifth grade students at St. Peter School not only studied the properties of matter but also took “matters” into their own hands by growing crystal Christmas ornaments that will soon be on display on the Archdiocesan Christmas tree in New York City.

This year, Central Westchester Schools are focused on opportunities to increase student math skills. Here, a St. Peter School student is using multiple tools – including arrays – to build a better understanding multiplication. Some studies suggest that students in grades three and higher can more readily develop an understanding of multiplication when they see it visually.
