Gear Up for the New School Year: Action Required for Bus Transportation!

Dear LCSD Families,

As we gear up for an exciting new school year, we want to make sure your student’s ride is locked in! Lyon County School District now requires registration before students can ride the school bus.

We’ve upgraded our routing technology to make routes more efficient. Because walk zones have been updated to accurately reflect district policies, some students who previously rode the bus may no longer be eligible.

Here is your quick, step-by-step guide to get bus-ready in no time:

Step 1: Check Eligibility
Before you apply, quickly verify if your student qualifies for transportation services based on our updated walk zones.

Step 2: Submit Your Application
If eligible, you must fill out a separate application for each student in your household. Note: Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee a spot, as final approval is based on district policy.

Step 3: Track the Ride with the "My Ride K-12" App!
Once approved and assigned to a route, you can track your student's bus schedule right from your phone! Starting August 10th, routes, bus assignments, and schedules will go live. The app gives you real-time updates, ETAs, boarding confirmations, and late bus notifications.
