Yelm Learning Tree Preschool LLC For the past 10 years, we have been offering families in our community an early childhood education. Our program develops the whole child.

Our curriculum and space is designed to support and promote self-confidence, independence, cooperation and consideration. A variety of activities are available every day including an art area which hosts an abundance of materials to create with, hands on science area, building block area, puzzles and board games, library area, and a dramatic play area with opportunities for music and movement. We

also offer an outdoor play area which provides activities to encourage physical movement and nature exploration. We use Mother Goose monthly education curriculum and our themes are based on seasonal changes, interests of the children, and their families, and areas that may warrant exploration based on the content of the children’s play. Holiday activities are addressed as a way for individual children to share family backgrounds with the group, and a way for the group to share and show respect for individuals. Our weekly activities will be posted on a bulletin board in an easily seen spot. The activities are well-balanced for group and free play, and consist of learning activities that will help your child develop his/her emotional, physical, intellectual and social skills. Our curriculum focuses on:
• Learning through movement, sight, sound, smell and touch.
• Transitioning children into kindergarten.
• Teaching through nature and educating this age group on the renewability and sustainability of our natural resources (reduce, reuse, and recycle).
• Planting and nurture a sense of community and understanding. A typical school day includes the following activities: large group play time, music and motion, circle time, art, sensory activities, science area exploration, small group dramatic play, learning center, small and gross motor development, story time, and outdoor play (weather permitting). Children are surrounded with praise and positive encouragement. In our nurturing environment, children gain useful life skills. Some examples include: taking turns, patience, sharing, compassion, empathy, and how to help others around them.
