Glazing pots is a challenge. Some potters love it, some avoid it at all costs. It involves a lot of trust, because glaze never looks anything like what it will after firing when it is applied to your pot. We use test tiles to get a good idea what we are in for, spend time imagining our pot with many options applied and inevitably make the call and go for it. Sometimes every goes well in applications, sometimes not. But ultimately the kiln has the most control over success or failure. All pottery is, in the end, an experiment!
