Sunday Funday! Studio Member Sally brought in her baby wheel to share. Meg could not wait to throw a tiny vase with it and great mirth followed.... you see, Few people know that most wheels start out this size and grow up to on their larger mother wheel's back before striking out on their own to handle the needs of the potter. I hear from my students that one of the best parts of taking a class is our weekly open studio. Every 6 week class includes seven, 6 hour open studio days to come practice and make new things. But the best part is getting to mingle with other potters, see what everyone is working on and get inspired! to our Spring Clean up last April! Thanks again, everyone who helped pull litter out of the green space. We do our best to help take care of our little stretch of woods. We loved seeing last weekends performance of The Tempest take shape in the ampitheater and hope to see more events like it in the woods!

This summer we have been upgrading our infrastructure thanks to a grant from the The Yellow Springs Community Foundation and part of that was improved indoor kiln ventilation! These space age lookin hoods are so cool, plus they pull heat bleed and unpleasant smells of kiln firing out of the building. Thank you for your help keeping our potters safe and healthy, YSCF!
