🩷Chapter Retreat💚
Omega Beta Omega has been working incredibly hard so our Chapter Retreat was a little different and extra special. For the very first time, we took our sisterhood on the road for a destination retreat through the Mississippi Delta, traveling from Yazoo City to Indianola.
As a chapter, we are always training, learning, and preparing ourselves to better serve our community and our sisterhood. But this time, we wanted to do something different. We wanted to intentionally step away from our usual training environment and focus on building upon the bonds of our sisterhood, learning more about one another while learning more about the history and culture that surrounds us.
As the Gateway to the Mississippi Delta, Yazoo City was the perfect starting point for our journey. Members were divided into teams and participated in an interactive scavenger hunt designed to strengthen our connections with one another. Along the way, we discovered new things about our members, worked together as teams, explored the rich history of the Mississippi Delta, and reflected on how that history connects to our own lives, communities, and service.
Our journey continued to the B.B. King Museum in Indianola, where we experienced the remarkable history, culture, and musical legacy of the Delta while learning more about the life and influence of the legendary B.B. King.
Of course, no Delta experience would be complete without good food and good music! We enjoyed lunch at Club Ebony, where food, fellowship, and entertainment gave us another opportunity to laugh, relax, and simply enjoy being together as sisters.
Our first destination retreat was fun, engaging, educational, and intentional. From Yazoo to Indianola, we learned about our history, learned more about each other, and strengthened the sisterly connections that make Omega Beta Omega special.
We spend so much time learning how to better serve others; this retreat gave us the opportunity to learn how to better connect with one another. 🩷💚
