Larry Summers CTC students are invited to attend Alcorn State University’s High School Day on Saturday, September 26, 2026!

The $30 cost includes:

🎟️ Admission to the football game
🚌 Transportation
🎁 A swag item

Students will tour the campus and watch Alcorn State University take on Texas Southern University. Please bring additional money for food.

Interested students should see Dr. Reed. Money is due Friday, August 28, 2026.

EdPrep News 🏆

Today was all about building our team! Students worked with different partners throughout the class as they completed team challenges designed to strengthen communication, problem-solving, patience, creativity, and collaboration.

From rebus puzzles and puzzle races to the marshmallow challenge, they had to listen to one another, share ideas, adjust when something did not work, and keep going together.

The goal was bigger than winning an activity. It was learning that everyone brings something different to the team and that we are stronger when we know how to work together.

📚🍎 News from EdPrep!

Today was a GREAT day in Educator Preparation! Students were randomly paired and challenged to use a back-to-school book to lead a read-aloud, create questions and a worksheet, and plan an engaging activity for their classmates.

From coloring activities and thought-provoking questions to physical games, they truly stepped into the role of the teacher. I was especially proud of the teamwork, creativity, and participation from everyone.

Activities like this help students learn to work together, build confidence, and begin recognizing their glows and grows as aspiring educators.

10/10 day! I am so proud of them! ❤️🍎

Getting Ready for a Great Year! 🩺🧼

Our second-year Health Science scholars are already hard at work! Before we can care for others, we must learn the importance of maintaining a clean, organized, and professional environment.

Yesterday they spent time cleaning, organizing, and preparing our lab for another successful school year. Teamwork, responsibility, and pride in their workspace are all part of becoming future healthcare professionals.

I’m excited to see all they accomplish this year. The future of healthcare is looking bright! 💙
