Family & Consumer Sciences classes are a great way to help your student be a well rounded person. Enrollment in our district is at the elementary school on August 2 and 3rd.

All 8th graders will take an Ag/Business/ FACS elective and all seniors must take Consumer & Personal Finance as a graduation requirement.

Let’s make 2022-2023 the best year yet!

With school starting soon, here are 5 reasons to enroll your children in a Family and Consumer Sciences education class and FCCLA

1. Adulting 101 has been our thing since 1945. We literally founded and created the classes that teach the life skills you see people posting about they wish they had learned in high school. They obviously didn’t take a Family and Consumer Sciences course.

2. All students (city, rural, shy, outgoing, athletic and musical) are encouraged to join.

3. There aren’t score boards or rankings but members are still part of a team. FCCLA has almost 40 competitive event contests including STAR Events, Skill Demonstration Events, and Knowledge Bowl. From fashion construction to culinary arts or prepared public speaking and hospitality, tourism, and recreation, there is one event your child will love and excel doing.

4. FCCLA is the Ultimate Leadership Experience. Through the organization, your child will learn public speaking skills, organization, time management, goal setting, and develop a passion for working with others and to make their communities a better place.

5. FCCLA is building homes for America’s future. Our members are learning to create homes and communities that focus on truth and love and security and faith. These skills of strengthening their family unit will set them apart and help us create a brighter future for our nation and the world.
