Established in 1814, North Yarmouth Academy (also known as "NYA") is an independent, college-preparatory coeducational day school for toddlers to students in grade 12. Fifteen minutes from Portland, NYA's 25-acre campus is located in historic Yarmouth, Maine. The Head of School is Ben Jackson, with Linda Manchester heading the Board of Trustees. NYA has 375 enrolled students with an average class

size of 14 students. NYA offers a structured program that establishes clear standards and high expectations in an environment that emphasizes values of mutual respect, trust, and community. NYA is dedicated to fostering integrity, character, and intellect in its students. NYA's three-activity requirement ensures that all are involved in extracurricular activities. NYA’s Lower School is Montessori through kindergarten. NYA's ice hockey teams compete in the NEPSAC Prep League and home ice is NYA's Travis Roy Arena on campus.

A new chapter is taking shape at NYA.

Beginning in the 2027–2028 school year, North Yarmouth Academy plans to expand its athletic offerings with new NEPSAC programs in field hockey, boys basketball, boys and girls soccer, and boys and girls lacrosse. 🏑🏀⚽🥍

This is about more than where we compete.

It’s about creating new opportunities for students to challenge themselves, learn from exceptional coaches and teachers, prepare for the next level, and help shape the culture and traditions of programs that are being built for the future.

And students don’t have to wait until 2027 to be part of it.
