A new chapter is taking shape at NYA.

Beginning in the 2027–2028 school year, North Yarmouth Academy plans to expand its athletic offerings with new NEPSAC programs in field hockey, boys basketball, boys and girls soccer, and boys and girls lacrosse. 🏑🏀⚽🥍

This is about more than where we compete.

It’s about creating new opportunities for students to challenge themselves, learn from exceptional coaches and teachers, prepare for the next level, and help shape the culture and traditions of programs that are being built for the future.

And students don’t have to wait until 2027 to be part of it.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Alumni Soccer Games on Monday! ⚽🖤🧡

It was wonderful to welcome so many Panthers back to campus for an evening of friendly competition, reconnecting with teammates and classmates, and sharing plenty of laughs (and pizza!).

Whether you were on the field or cheering from the sidelines, you helped make the night such a special celebration of the NYA community and the traditions that bring us back together year after year.

⛵ Big news at NYA!

We're excited to partner with Portland Yacht Club to launch a varsity sailing program beginning in fall 2027. Led by nationally recognized coach Tom Sitzmann, the program will compete in one of the nation's premier high school sailing conferences.

BIG NEWS!

We're kicking off a series of exciting announcements about the future of North Yarmouth Academy by sharing expanded athletic opportunities beginning with the 2027–2028 school year.

NYA will join NEPSAC (the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council) in field hockey, boys basketball, boys and girls lacrosse, and boys and girls soccer—giving our student-athletes the opportunity to compete in one of the nation's premier independent school athletic leagues.

We're also launching a competitive sailing program in partnership with Portland Yacht Club that will compete in NESSA (the New England Schools Sailing Association), the region's premier interscholastic sailing league.
