Something thatâs been coming up with a handful of clients lately - the goal isnât a relationship.
And I know thatâs offensive to an entire industry that has women convinced that being chosen is the prize.
Itâs not.
Because do you know how many women are in relationships right now that are absolutely miserable?
Being cheated on.
Being lied to.
Being emotionally abandoned.
Carrying the entire mental load.
Feeling alone while sitting next to someone every night.
A relationship isnât the goal.
The right relationship is.
And while weâre at itâŚ
Can we stop acting like having a man is the flex?
The flex is having a man who actually makes your life better.
A man who supports your growth instead of competing with it.
A man who doesnât need to be convinced that your needs matter.
A few days ago, I mentioned wanting to join Barre3.
Within minutes my husband had the app downloaded, a class booked, and was figuring out how weâd make it work with the baby.
Workout clothes were already being ordered because he knew I was feeling vulnerable postpartum and wanted me to feel comfortable walking into that room.
I didnât have to negotiate.
I didnât have to justify it.
I didnât have to earn support.
Thatâs the goal.
Not a boyfriend.
Not a husband.
Not a ring.
A partner who sees something that matters to you and immediately wants to help make it happen.
Because the man you choose will either become a source of peace, support, and expansionâŚ
Or a source of stress, exhaustion, and self-abandonment.
A lot of women are so afraid of being alone that they never stop to ask:
âDoes this relationship actually improve my life?â
At some point, we have to stop glorifying being chosen and start raising the standard to being cherished, supported, respected, and safe.
Thatâs where everything changes.
And yesâŚ
You absolutely can have the marriage, the kids, the career, the business, the body, and the life.
The women who have it all didnât get lucky.
They stopped settling for relationships that required them to become less of themselves.
