Homeroom Assignments and Transportation 🚌

Homeroom teacher assignments and transportation information will be available through the District's PowerSchool Parent Portal (My Power Hub) on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Please note that we are unable to provide placement information prior to the official release date.

Kindergarten Orientation 🎒

Monday, August 31, 2026

Incoming kindergarten families should have received a separate orientation letter with additional details. Kindergarten Orientation will take place on the morning of August 31 and is designed to help our newest students and their families become familiar with Afton before the school year begins.

Grades 1–5 Open House ✏️📚

Monday, August 31, 2026 | 2:00–3:00 p.m.

Students in grades 1–5 and their families are invited to attend our optional Open House. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to meet their teachers, visit their classrooms, and get excited about the new school year. Please note that kindergarten teachers will not be available during the Grades 1–5 Open House.

Come explore a special showcase featuring artwork created by every Afton student, along with writing pieces displayed outside each classroom.

This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity, imagination, and hard work of our students.

🖼️ Volunteers needed! 🖼️

🎨 Celebration of the Arts 🎨

Please consider donating your time to helping at one of Afton’s most colorful nights, Celebration of the Arts!

This special night is an open house that highlights the talent of every single student at Afton!

In order to put on this beautiful event, however, we will need some volunteers! Don’t worry though, no special skills or artistic talent is required! (All of the talent belongs to the Afton students!)

Volunteers will be needed on Thursday, June 4th at 10:30 am to hang the students’ artwork to display for the event. We will also need volunteers the next day to take the artwork down.

We appreciate any and all help to make this very special night happen!

Come and celebrate at our last Dine and Donate of the year!

Join us tonight-Thursday May 14 from 5 - 7:30 pm at Uncle Dave’s ice cream at Shady Brook Farm.

Grab some ice cream and 20% of all sales will be donated back to the PTO!
