Fengdu Ghost City, China

Fengdu Ghost City is located on Ming Mountain on the northern bank of the Yangtze River. It’s renowned for an eerie blend of Confucian, Taoist, and Buddhist cultures intertwined with ghostly mysticism.

Known as the 'Ghost City' since the Eastern Han Dynasty, Fengdu features temples, statues, and sites symbolizing the afterlife. The Nothing-To-Be-Done-Bridge, Ghost Torturing Pass, and Tianzi Palace are among the most notable sites.

Visitors encounter tales that depict the judgment and fate of souls in the netherworld. Significant attractions also include the Last-Glance at Home Tower and the annual temple fair held in the first week of March.

Fengdu's unique architecture and ancient craftsmanship serve as a constant reminder of the belief that good deeds are rewarded, and evil is punished.

Did you know anyone can be nominated for a Nobel Prize?

Hundreds or thousands of nominations are received for the Nobel Prize every year from members of academies, university professors, scientists, previous Nobel Prize laureates, members of parliamentary assemblies and more.

In theory anybody could be put forward for a prize and as such being nominated is in no way an endorsement by the Nobel Prize. That is reserved for those individuals and organisations that are selected as Nobel Prize laureates.

Nominations are only made public 50 years after the nomination has taken place – so nominations for this year’s Nobel Prizes are a closely guarded secret. Any rumours regarding recent nominees are either just rumour, or someone among the invited nominators has leaked information. Since the nominations are kept secret for 50 years, you'll have to wait until then to find out.
