🎨 The Washington Middle School Invitational Art Exhibit was a tremendous success!
This year's Washington Middle School art exhibit showcased more than 400 pieces of outstanding artwork, including paintings, drawings, printmaking, ceramics, sewing, and more. We were proud to feature the creativity and talent of students from Wilson Middle School, Lewis & Clark Middle School, Union Gap, St. Joseph's, and Washington Middle School.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the incredible art programs in the Yakima School District and other regional middle schools, and the hard work of our young artists throughout the school year. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Opening Reception on May 19 and helped make this event so special. Your support of arts education means so much to our students and teachers.

We look forward to sharing wonderful art again next year! 🎨✨

Washington Middle School recently held a spectacular STEAM Night, bringing together students, families, and community partners for an evening of innovation, curiosity, and hands-on discovery. 🔬

Throughout the night, attendees explored a lineup of interactive booths hosted by school programs and community organizations alike. Students dove into the wonders of biology 🧬, got up close with the fascinating world of insects 🐛🔍, and rolled up their sleeves for fun, eye-opening experiments that turned everyday curiosity into real scientific thinking. 🧪💡

Beyond the activities, the evening highlighted the power of community 🤝. Local partners joined in to show families the many meaningful ways they partner with the Yakima School District to support education, reinforcing that our students have an entire community standing behind them. 🏫❤️

Events like these remind us why STEAM education matters: it ignites imagination, builds confidence, and shows students that they are capable of shaping the future. 🚀🌍

🦁🎓 Exploring Future Pathways with Safe Yakima! 🎓🦁
Our students had an incredible opportunity to visit Columbia Basin College in the Tri-Cities through the Safe Yakima Valley Mentorship Program!
From touring the campus to learning about college programs and student life, our Lions were able to envision what their future could look like beyond middle school. Experiences like this help spark motivation, build confidence, and open doors to new possibilities. ✨
A huge thank you to Safe Yakima and our mentors for investing in our students and creating meaningful opportunities for them to grow, explore, and dream big. 💙💛
