Summer break is almost over, we hope that your family has enjoyed the break! We know you all have lots of questions, please see the information below.
When does school start:
First day of School in on Tuesday, August 25th.
*Kindergarten students will have a staggered start on Aug 25th and Aug 26th.
*Last names A-L Aug 25th
*Last names M-Z Aug 26th
*All Kinder’s come Aug 27th
What time is school during Early Release Week:
8:50am – 12:10pm
Where is Summitview Elementary located:
We are located at 6305 W. Chestnut Ave.
Teacher Meet and Greet:
Please stop by for a quick meet your teacher and locate your classroom anytime between 3:30pm - 5:00pm on August 24th! You are not required to stay the whole time.
What is Family Engagement Week:
Family Engagement Week is a time for you and your child to connect with your new teacher and see your child’s classroom. You will need to schedule your family engagement session time with your teacher, look out for a separate email from the office about how and when to schedule. During the conference you can come locate your child’s classroom and drop off supplies.
Who is my child’s teacher:
You will be able to find out who your child’s teacher is when you log into Skyward to schedule your Family Engagement session by August 14th.
School Supplies:
You can find the list attached in this email. You are welcome to bring school supplies during your conference session.
Child Nutrition:
School meals for all Summitview students will be free for the 2026-27 school year.
How can my child ride the bus:
We are strongly encouraging bus riding going forward. If your child has never taken the bus, please contact our Transportation department to set your child up with a bus route, 509-972-5590. https://wvsd208.org/students-and-families/district-services/transportation. If you child rode the bus last year their route will not change, DO NOT call transportation.
School Newsletters:
We send bi-weekly newsletter packed with information that you will want to know. These will be sent to your email, you can also view the newsletter on our school website: https://sv.wvsd208.org/newsletters. You can view the newsletter from June 15th, this has information for the upcoming school year.
Parent Square:
Parent Square may not be available to parents until after the first day of school, please wait to try and login.
Volunteer Application:
Parents are required to fill these out every school year, they expire each June. Attached you will find the application, we can take these any time. With the application, we will also need a photo copy of your Driver’s License. Please fill this out at the beginning of the school year if you would like to come for lunch, mileage club, field trips or volunteer for book fair. You do not have to wait for an event to fill this out, please do this now.
***Our school communicates mostly through email and Parent Square, so try to check your email often.
