Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! We appreciate our teachers every day of the year, but this week gives us the opportunity to show them.

We may be biased, but we think our Wesley staff are the cream of the crop, and we are so ✨🍀lucky🍀✨ to have them!

May 4th is

Huge thanks to members of Yakima Valley Love on a Leash for visiting our Preschoolers this week. Our students are always so fascinated to learn how these amazing animals provide comfort, and getting to pet the dogs and see a few tricks is a highlight of our year. It's also a wonderful opportunity for us to talk to students about animal safety (only petting animals when you have permission, always practicing gentleness, and so many other good conversations).

Last week in chapel, Mrs. Renfrew reminded us about the fruit of the spirit, Gentleness ("being kind and tender and calm"). Today our Tuesday/Thursday supplemental class got to put that into practice!

A friend of Ms. Robin's is raising chicks, and brought them to class for students to see. As each student got to hold a chick, we talked about being gentle. 🤲🐥

..and then we practiced washing our hands! 👐🧼

Today in Chapel, Mrs. Renfrew talked about this month's fruit of the spirit, gentleness (represented by a strawberry). "Gentleness is being kind and tender and calm".
Each of our friends got a card with a strawberry on one side, and a chick on the other. We practiced showing gentleness and kindness to our baby chicks, and talked about how we can do that in our daily lives. 🍓🐥

Enrollment for Fall 2026-2027 is open, and so is registration for our summer program!

We had so much fun last summer that we're expanding to offer 3 days a week this summer.

Can't make it 3 days a week? No problem! You can enroll for 1 or 2 days per week - whatever works for you. Children ages 3-6 are welcome, regardless of whether they have been enrolled at Wesley Preschool during the school year. Did you know that when you share love with others, you end up with MORE love!?
Our preschoolers do!

Today during chapel, Pastor Shane had our friends help him play hide-and-seek with his stuffy friends.
We found 9 of them, and then Pastor Shane decided he was too tired and didn't need to find the last friend.
Was that ok with our preschoolers? NO!

We made sure to find friend number 10 because ALL of our friends matter to Jesus!

Although the frost on our windows in the mornings may not be a good indicator, summer is coming quickly!

Last summer we had such an amazing time, we decided to expand to 3 days per week!
