🍋 Happy Lemonade Day! 🍋
When life gives our kiddos lemons… we turn them into a whole day of learning! 💛
Our Pre-K kiddos celebrated Lemonade Day by learning about the life cycle of a lemon tree 🌱🍋 and exploring the different parts of a lemon. Then came the best part—they rolled up their sleeves, practiced their cutting skills, and squeezed fresh lemons by hand to make homemade lemonade! 🍋🥤
Later, our Preschool friends joined the fun at our Lemonade Stand Dramatic Play Center, where they followed recipes using pretend ingredients to whip up lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and ice water. 🍓🍋🧊 They practiced measuring, counting, following directions, taking turns, and using their imaginations—all while running the cutest little lemonade stand around!
Science, fine motor skills, math, sensory exploration, dramatic play…and a refreshing treat at the end? We’d say today was pretty zest-tacular! 🍋😉

🍎✏️ And just like that… we’re back to school! 📚🖍️
Today was our first official day of “school” at Our Blessed Beginnings Academy! While we’re a little sad to say goodbye to the carefree days of summer, we are SO excited for all the learning, growing, exploring, creating, and memory-making ahead of us this academic year. ❤️
Our classrooms are ready, our teachers are excited, and our little learners are off on a brand-new adventure! We can’t wait to see how much they grow—not just in what they know, but in their confidence, kindness, independence, and faith. 🌱✨

🔥🍫 Did you know today is National S’More Day? 🍫🔥
Ms. Shannon did. 😂 (Obscure holidays are kind of her thing!)
Of course, we couldn’t let a perfectly good food holiday go uncelebrated, so our Preschool and Pre-K kiddos whipped up some delicious S’More Trail Mix! 😋
But around here, even snack time can sneak in a little learning! Our kiddos:
🥄 Used measuring cups to add their ingredients
🙌 Practiced hand-eye coordination while pouring everything into their bags
👀👃👂✋👅 Put all FIVE senses to work exploring—and, most importantly, tasting—their delicious creations!

🌧️ Mother Nature had other plans for Water Day today... or so she thought! ⛺🔥
The rain (and those storms that never actually showed up 😏) washed out our outdoor plans, but it certainly didn't wash away the fun.
Instead, our PreK classroom transformed into the coziest little campground! We pitched a tent, built a campfire out of Magna-Tiles, and grabbed our flashlights to read camping stories just like we were under the stars. 🔦📚✨
Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you never planned. Today was a wonderful reminder that a little creativity and a big imagination can turn a rainy day into an unforgettable learning experience.
At Our Blessed Beginnings Academy, we don't let a change in plans dampen our spirits—we simply create a new adventure! ❤️

🎲 Who knew causing family game night arguments could be such an important life skill? 😄
Today our preschoolers took on the classics—Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, and Memory. There were cheers, groans, a few "Aww, I have to go ALL the way back down the slide?!" moments, and lots of laughter.
While they thought they were just playing games, they were actually practicing some pretty big skills:
🎲 Taking turns (the hardest game of all!)
🍭 Counting spaces and recognizing colors and words
🧠 Remembering where those sneaky matching cards were hiding
💛 Learning that sometimes you win...and sometimes you end up back at the bottom of the chute. (Life lessons start early!)
Board games are one of those wonderfully simple activities that pack a surprising amount of learning into a whole lot of fun. They build confidence, strengthen friendships, and teach patience—all without a single worksheet.
At Our Blessed Beginnings Academy, we believe some of the best learning happens around a game board... especially when there's a little cheering, a little friendly competition, and maybe just a tiny bit of dramatic sighing when someone lands on a chute. 😉

Today our Pre-K class had a melon-tastic time celebrating Watermelon Day! 🍉☀️
Our little learners didn't just eat watermelon—they learned with it! We measured our watermelon using snap cubes and counting links, compared its size, and made predictions before practicing our cutting skills with kid-safe knives. These hands-on activities help strengthen early math concepts, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and independence.
And then came everyone's favorite part... enjoying the sweet, juicy watermelon together! 😋🍉

✨ Our First Ever Preschool Art Gallery was a masterpiece! 🎨🖌️
For the past month, our little artists have immersed themselves in the worlds of Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, Alma Woodsey Thomas, Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, Wassily Kandinsky, Yayoi Kusama, and Jackson Po***ck. They explored each artist's unique style and then created beautiful works inspired by these masters—using their own creativity, imagination, and tiny hands.
Yesterday, they proudly welcomed their families into our very own art gallery to share everything they had created. The smiles, excitement, and confidence on their faces as they showed off their artwork were truly priceless.
Thank you to every family who came to celebrate with us. Your support made our first art show an unforgettable success. Most importantly, thank you to our amazing young artists for reminding us that creativity has no age limit. ❤️
