Greetings from the Xenia High School Instrumental Music Department,
Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 10th at 7 PM, the Xenia High School Big Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band will be presenting their March National Music In Our Schools Month Band Program. The final dress rehearsals for Concert Band and Symphonic Band are Monday and Tuesday, March 9th and 10th during 6th and 7th period for each group. Student report time should be no later than 6:30 PM to the XHS Band Room on the day of the concert, Tuesday, March 10th. Below are bullet points on when, where, what to wear, and all other information that students and families will need to know who will be in attendance. All concerts are mandatory and are a part of the student’s overall grade and experience in the program. This particular concert, combined with the March Concert Reflection and Critique, acts as the student's summative assessment for the quarter. This is a free concert that is open to the public, and we encourage all who are available to attend!
When: Tuesday, March 10th at 7 PM
Where: Bob Hope Auditorium at Xenia High School (enter through the side doors nearest to the band room at door 2B)
What to Wear: Student attire should be black dress clothing with black dress shoes (tennis shoes are not acceptable), black suits are encouraged as well as ties. White undershirts to be worn under the suit are acceptable.
Program: XHS Concert Band, XHS Big Band, Special Guest Artist, XHS Symphonic Band and presentation of OMEA Solo and Ensemble Awards by XHS Principal - Mr. Whalen
Seating: There will be a reserved section for the bands, as each band is required to stay to watch each other perform. All other seating is open to the public.
Cost: Free to all attendees
