Tonight was the GCCC Christmas party, and I got to meet some of the culinary arts program students from Xenia Community Schools. I wanted to take a picture and recognize these awesome students. Thank you for your hard work and dedication; it makes me proud every time I see you students doing what you love. Keep up the good work.

Happy Election Day everyone. Don’t forget to get out and vote.

With tomorrow being Election Day just wanted to send out note to remind everyone to get out and vote. Has the last 4 years been perfect? No. That being said we have made improvements and I would like to continue making those improvements. Over the last 4 years Xenia schools have been moving in the right direction.
If reelected I want to continue to work on "Investing in Every Student: Transparency, Excellence, and Community." The first of 4 main areas that I want to continue to work on is.
1. Academic Excellence and Student Achievement. The primary goal is to ensure every Xenia student receives a high-quality education that prepares them for college, career, and citizenship.
2. Fiscal Responsibility and Transparency. Maintain the community's trust by managing taxpayer dollars wisely and prioritizing resources directly for the classroom.
3. Safe, Supportive, and Engaging Environment. Foster a positive and secure school climate that supports the well-being of students and staff.
4. Community and Family Engagement. Strengthen the partnership between the school district and the Xenia community, recognizing that schools thrive when families are actively involved.

📣 A Message to Our Greene County Community
As your local school superintendents, we share your concern about rising property taxes. The truth is, Ohio has shifted more of the school funding burden onto local communities.
🏫 Homeowners and farmers once paid 47% of school property taxes. Today, it’s nearly 70%.
📉 Ohio now ranks 45th in the nation for state funding of K–12 education.
💰 The state’s share has dropped to 33.5%, while the national average is 45%.
This impacts more than schools. Property taxes also fund the services that make Greene County strong.
Our children deserve better. Ohio spends $2,672 less per student than the national average. We need fair, lasting solutions that support families and strengthen public education.

Educators within our district have been placed on leave due to inappropriate online comments regarding the murder of Charlie Kirk. Regardless of individual political perspectives, trivializing or celebrating a person's death is unacceptable and fails to uphold the values expected of our educational staff. Our educators serve as role models, and professionalism and respect must always be paramount. During this review, our commitment remains unwavering: we will continue to hold our staff to the highest standards, ensuring our schools embody the values of dignity and respect.

Today we mourn the loss of a remarkable American, Charlie Kirk, a devoted father of two young children, loving husband, and dear friend to many. No matter where we stand, we can unite in our belief that violence is never the solution. As someone in the public arena, we can always strive to resolve our differences through respectful dialogue.
