This battered brain bucket is the reason a Missouri State Highway Patrol gets another birthday instead of a fancy funeral.
On July 29th, their SWAT unit assisted Lincoln County Sheriff's Office with a barricaded suspect, 69 year old John Haynes. He had a DV warrant and will not celebrate another birthday, because he came to the door not with his hands up, but with a weapon and murderous intent. The gun battle outside of little Winfield, Missouri, was brief and decisive.

Huge props to Missouri State Highway Patrol for equipping their officers appropriately.

Their press release noted that the trooper was evaluated and released without injury. I will add this caution: there's nearly no chance that this skull didn't get rocked despite the absence of fracture or blood. The body of evidence demonstrating the damage wrought by subclinical brain trauma is compelling and growing.

Any -ANY- insult to an officer's gray Jell-O mold needs to be documented and monitored. mTBI is conclusively linked to neurological symptoms (immediate or delayed), headaches, post-traumatic stress, sleep disturbance, suicidal behavior and more. This profession needs to start taking it seriously.

Enough about that.

Armor isn't "militarization", it's PPE.
Don't let people who aren't bearing the risk drive your narrative.

Chainsaw bar oil on the rails if a PSA Dagr - some of you heard the story. It was dry, I was on the mountain, the bar oil was in the truck. Has run fine since, but as you can see, it's gotten a bit thick and attracted dog hair from the truck seat and other such things as it gets carried.
Time for a cleaning and proper l**e up.
