Celebrating our Emerging Entrepreneurs!

Congratulations to Brandon Brisita and Isabella Torres on successfully completing the Emerging Entrepreneurs Academy (EEA) this summer! Through this program, students gained real-world insight into entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing, business development, and what it takes to turn an idea into a successful venture.

We are proud of the initiative, creativity, and commitment they demonstrated throughout this experience—and excited to see where their entrepreneurial journeys take them next! 👏💡

What a wonderful way to kick off the 2026–27 school year! 🎉📚

Today, our staff came together for a full day of connection, celebration, and professional learning as we officially welcomed a new school year. We were inspired by keynote speaker Mark Schumacher and his message, “Reignite the Joy + Strengthen Your School,” reminding us of the purpose, energy, and joy that make our schools such special places to learn and grow.

The learning continued throughout the day as staff participated in professional learning sessions, collaborating with colleagues, exploring new ideas, and reflecting on ways we can continue to strengthen teaching and learning for our students. 💡

We also took time to celebrate the people who make our school community so special. Our Years of Service Recognitions honored staff members for their dedication and commitment to our students and our school community. From welcoming new staff to recognizing colleagues who have dedicated decades to Wyomissing Area, it was a meaningful reminder of the experience, expertise, and heart that make our district strong. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Opening Day possible from our student leaders and community partners to our Board of School Directors, St. Luke’s/Berks Health Trust, WAEA, WAEF, PTA, Gourmand Café, Mr. Schumacher, professional learning presenters, and everyone working behind the scenes.

At the Wyomissing Area School District, we know that strong mental health is an important part of every student's success. That's why we're proud to partner with the Cook Center for Human Connection to provide FREE mental health and wellness resources for all WASD families.

Through this partnership, families have access to:
-- Free on-demand courses led by licensed therapists on more than 50 topics, available in English and Spanish.
-- Parent Coaching, offering one-on-one support to help caregivers navigate everyday parenting challenges.
-- Ask a Therapist, where parents can receive expert guidance from licensed mental health professionals.
-- Monthly Mental Health Series webinars focused on topics such as anxiety, depression, social media, bullying, grief, resilience, and more.

The Wyomissing Area School District encourages families to apply for free or reduced-price school meals if they believe they may qualify. Completing an application helps provide nutritious meals for students.

Applications are confidential, and families must submit a new application each school year unless they receive a direct certification notification. Families who may qualify are encouraged to apply, even if they have not qualified in the past or if their financial situation has recently changed.

As fall sports begin, the health and safety of our student-athletes remain our highest priority. Practicing and competing in hot and humid conditions can increase the risk of heat-related illness, making proper heat acclimatization an important part of a safe start to the season.

During this time, athletes gradually increase their activity level while following specific guidelines for practice duration, equipment use, rest periods, and hydration. These measures are designed to help athletes safely adjust to exercising in warmer weather and reduce the risk of heat-related illness.

We encourage all families of student-athletes to review the preseason heat acclimatization guidelines and discuss the importance of staying hydrated, recognizing the signs of heat illness, and communicating with coaches or athletic trainers if a student is not feeling well.

As we prepare for another exciting school year, we invite families to join us for our Back-to-School events! These evenings are a wonderful opportunity to meet teachers, learn about classroom expectations, and get ready for a successful year ahead.
