Top 10 Reasons to Attend a Chapter Meet
1. Your first meet is free!
You do not need to be a dues-paying member to attend your first chapter meet. We hope you’ll join the G&CICA, of course, but first-time guests are always welcome.
2. Convenient locations
Chapter meets are held in four regions across the United States, making it easy to choose a location that works best for you.
3. Friendly, welcoming people
Members are eager to meet fellow enthusiasts, share knowledge, and talk about the hobby. Many members say the friendships and camaraderie are just as rewarding as the cookware itself.
4. A relaxed, intimate atmosphere
Chapter meets are smaller and more informal than the annual convention, making it easy to get to know people in your area.
5. Learn more about the hobby
Enjoy both structured and informal activities designed to expand your knowledge of vintage and antique cast-iron cookware.
6. No experience required
Attendees range from longtime collectors with decades of experience to people who are simply curious about old iron. Everyone is welcome.
7. Buy, sell, and trade iron
Opportunities abound to find new pieces, trade duplicates, or pass along cookware to fellow collectors.
8. Delicious food and great fellowship
Chapter meets often include shared meals, snacks, and plenty of conversation — one of the best ways to relax, connect, and enjoy time with fellow collectors.
9. See remarkable pieces and collections
You’ll have the chance to view interesting and unusual pieces while learning the stories and history behind them.
10. Celebrate the history of American cookware
Chapter meets bring together people who share a passion for preserving and appreciating the craftsmanship and history of vintage cast iron.
