This week, several classical schools across our network gathered at Livingston Classical Academy to receive curriculum training and support in the literacy program, Literacy Essentials: the Journey from Spelling to Reading. Thank you to curriculum co-author, Dorothy Kardatzke, who presented to faculty.

This professional development will allow our teachers to continue to improve and demonstrate our commitment to student growth and achievement in literacy.

28 Years of Purpose

Twenty-eight years ago, Choice Schools was founded on a simple belief: every child deserves access to an exceptional education.

That belief still guides us today.

Over the last 28 years, we've had the privilege of serving school communities across Michigan. We've watched students grow, celebrated milestones, pushed through challenges, and learned something new every year.

What has never changed are the people. Teachers who pour into their students. School leaders who carry the weight of a school community. Board members who volunteer their time. Support staff who quietly keep everything moving. Families who trust us with what matters most.

To everyone who has been part of the Choice Schools story, thank you. The work you do makes a difference in ways that often can't be measured, but can be seen in the lives of students every day.

Here's to 28 years of making a difference, and to the years still to come.

Our Choice Schools Central Office came together for a morning of collaboration and reflection on the 2025–26 school year before heading to downtown Grand Rapids for our first-ever Pickleball Classic!

Congratulations to Bradford Academy on an incredible community event! What a wonderful way to bring families together, celebrate summer, strengthen community connections, and create lasting memories. Well done to everyone who made this fun-filled event such a success!

📸 Creativity in focus! We're proud to see Kingsbury Country Day School campers exploring the world through a new lens. Photography Camp gave students the opportunity to build creativity, curiosity, and confidence while learning that photography is about more than pictures- it’s about storytelling, observation, and seeing the world differently. We're still reflecting on an incredible Safety Summit and Summer Leaders Retreat!

One of the highlights was recognizing Director Colleen Vogt from Will Carleton Academy Charter School with the Choice Schools Leader of Excellence Award. Her dedication to students, staff, and her school community exemplifies outstanding leadership.
