Fall Harvest Festival - October 31
This year, West Elementary will be celebrating Halloween and Harvest Festival (no costumes) concurrently. Classroom celebrations will focus on the Fall Harvest so all students can participate, even if students do not celebrate Halloween. If a student elects to bring a costume, it should be worn to school or students should be able to put them on over their clothing in the classroom. Costumes should not depict gore, violence, illegal activity, or contain weaponry of any kind. If you need help obtaining a costume, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.

We will be having our costume parade in front of the school at approximately 2:45 PM on October 31st. We ask that parents who choose to attend gather in the bus loop area to observe the costume parade. Parents volunteers for classroom parties are decided individually by classroom teachers. No parent can volunteer without a District background check, which can take up to 2 weeks to get back.

Parent Teacher Conferences - October 22 & 24
Parent-teacher conferences can now be scheduled on ParentVue for Tuesday, October 22 and Thursday, October 24 4:00-7:30.
We recommend you use a computer or your student's chromebook instead of your phone to book these conferences.
If you are having troubles scheduling a conference, please contact your child's teacher directly or the West Office (616) 530-7533.
Phone Conferences - limited slots are available each night (4:00-4:30 & 7:00-7:30) for telephone conferences. If you choose a phone conference, the teacher will call at the designated time.
In-Person Conferences - In-person conferences are available 4:30-7:00 on October 22 & 24. If you have more than one child, click on their name to choose your conference times. It is helpful to schedule time between your conferences.
If you need a Spanish Interpreter, please mark "Yes." Number of interpreters available per night per time slot is dependent on the building.
