We hope the 2025 participants had a great time at this year's GR Girls Robotics Competition. It was fun to see the energy and excitement.
Thanks to the many volunteers who made the event a success, and our host teams for working through location and field challenges to make GRGRC happen: Allendale's TriSonics, Kent ISD's That ONE Team, East Kentwood High School's Red Storm Robotics, and East Kentwood Freshman Campus' Red Storm Rookies.

West Michigan Robotics teams to Host Annual Grand Rapids Girls Robotics Competition

ALLENDALE, Michigan – Allendale High School will be the host site for the annual Grand Rapids Girls Robotics Competition on Saturday September 13th. This high school level robotics competition will showcase eighteen Michigan teams battling in complex two-minute matches against highly skilled competitors in last season’s game, Reefscape.

The Grand Rapids Girls Robotics Competition is a FIRST Robotics off-season event. Michigan boasts the most FIRST Robotics teams in action, and the competition will be a sea of excitement. During this unique event female team members will be the primary drivers and operators of their team’s robot and will hold the roles of pit crew members. They will be playing the FIRST Robotics REEFSCAPE game where two alliances of three robots compete to score PVC pipe "coral" and green playground ball "algae" in various goals. Alliances earn points by placing coral on a central reef, scoring algae in a net, and at the end of the match, having robots hang from a "barge" to ascend to the surface.

The Grand Rapids Girls Robotic Competition will begin with a Ladies in Tech Panel at 8:00 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2025. This panel is a great opportunity to connect and learn from female STEM leaders in our community. The robotics competition begins with opening ceremonies scheduled for 8:45 AM. The competition will conclude with the awards ceremony at 4:30 PM that evening. Please mark your calendars for this family-friendly event and join us to learn more about STEM and FIRST Robotics. All events, including the competition, Ladies in Tech Panel, and awards ceremony, are FREE and open to the public. All events will be held at Allendale High School,10760 68th Ave in Allendale Michigan.
