Join Reconstructionists from around the world on Sunday, August 8, 2021, for our movement-wide day of learning on the topic of . As we lean into the work of Reconstructing Judaism’s goal to, “join and lead Jewish efforts to ,” this day of learning kicks off an effort, led by our Tikkun Olam Commission, to explore what a movement-wide resolution on reparations could look like.
We will start at 11 a.m. EDT with a special Hallel service for Rosh Hodesh Elul and opening remarks, followed by multiple sessions of learning from amazing teachers from across the movement and partner organizations in our racial justice work.
The cost of the program is on a sliding scale from $0 to $54.

The Center for Jewish Ethics has awarded the 2021 Whizin Prize — an essay contest to encourage innovative thinking on contemporary Jewish ethics — to Miriam Attia, a doctoral student in religious ethics at the University of Chicago Divinity School. Attia's essay focuses on the writings of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, whose views on women loom large in the recent debates about the ordination of Orthodox women rabbis.

Join us TOMORROW, May 6 at 4:30 p.m. EDT for "In Conversation: Allyship Through a Modern Jewish Lens" where we will discuss “Chaver Up!”, a book about the deeply Jewish value of allyship.
Joining the discussion will be Rabbi Deborah Waxman, Ph.D., president of Reconstructing Judaism; Rabbi Mira Beth Wasserman, assistant professor of rabbinic literature at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and the director of The Center for Jewish Ethics; and Rabbi Mike Moskowitz, scholar-in-residence for trans and q***r Jewish studies at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah - CBST.
During the discussion, Rabbi Moskowitz will share the impact of the "Chaver Up!" project and interview Rabbis Waxman and Wasserman about their contributions to the book.
This event will be livestreamed on Reconstructing Judaism, CBST, and RRC's pages on Thursday, May 6 at 4:30 p.m. EDT. You will be able to transmit questions to the rabbis via Facebook comments.
