🍎🥝 Kids Café was full of learning, exploring, and yummy fun today! 👩‍🍳💕

Our little chefs practiced being Safe & Healthy by learning proper handwashing with our cinnamon project, then washed their fresh fruits in a colander right in the sink. They practiced independence as they used tools to peel and slice their fruits, learning how to safely handle kitchen tools along the way.

We also put our senses to work with a fun ingredient guessing game! The children smelled different ingredients and used their sense of smell to make their best guesses. 👃✨

To finish it all off, our chefs worked together to create a delicious Friendship Salad! 🥝🍓🍌 Working with ingredients, using tools, exploring their senses, and practicing healthy habits made for a fun-filled Kids Café experience! 💚

Getting ready to write starts with building those little hand muscles! ✏️💪

This week in Jumpstart, our students practiced their fine motor skills by lacing colorful beads onto pipe cleaners. Using their pincher grasp to pick up and place each bead helps strengthen the muscles needed for holding and controlling a pencil. It may look like play, but they’re building important skills for future writing success! 💕🌈

What a fun week of learning! 💛 Our little learners had a blast with both of our class demos this week. We took the time to introduce them to the two new enrichment classes we will be offering, KickStart Soccer and Kids Cafe Cooking!

From practicing kicking, dribbling, balance, and taking turns at our Kickstart Soccer demo ⚽️ to washing hands, using kid-safe tools, cutting fruit, and making their own fruit burritos at Kids Café! 🌯🍓 We love watching our kiddos try new things, build confidence, and have fun while learning! 🥰

Our Preschool friends took learning outside for a morning of sensory exploration! 🌿☀️

Our outdoor sensory stations gave children the chance to explore in exciting, hands-on ways. One bin was filled with water and bowls for pouring, scooping, and splashing, while another featured dirt and recyclable materials for digging, building, and creating!

These open-ended activities helped develop so many important skills, including:
💧 Fine motor skills through scooping, pouring, and transferring materials
🌎 Sensory exploration by experiencing different textures and natural elements
🧠 Problem-solving and critical thinking while experimenting and creating
🤝 Social skills through sharing materials, taking turns, and working together
💬 Language development as children described their discoveries and imaginative creations
✨ Creativity by using everyday materials in new and exciting ways

Our Early Preschool 1 artists had so much fun creating with a simple square block and white paint! 🤍⬜

By stamping the block onto paper, our little learners explored shapes, colors, and creativity while strengthening important early learning skills. This hands-on activity encouraged:
🎨 Creative expression through process art
🤲 Fine motor development by grasping and pressing the blocks
👀 Hand-eye coordination as they carefully placed each stamp
🔲 Shape recognition by exploring the square shape

Our Infant 2 friends had a deliciously fun time in dramatic play as they built their own pretend sandwiches! 🥪💛

Using play food may look like simple fun, but it helps little learners develop so many important skills! As they selected ingredients, stacked them together, and shared their creations, they were building:
🧠 Cognitive skills through problem-solving and pretend play
🤲 Fine motor skills by grasping, stacking, and manipulating different pieces
🗣️ Language development by naming foods and communicating with teachers and friends
🎨 Creativity by designing their own unique sandwich combinations

Learning through play is one of the best ways to explore the world around us—and our little chefs had a blast! 🥪✨
