The Sicomac PTO was happy to donate brand new xylophones and piano keyboards to support our students’ music education and 4B wasted no time trying them out yesterday during class! 🎶🎹

A special thank you to Mr. Potosnak, our music teacher, for helping us understand what was needed in the classroom. We’re excited seeing him put these instruments to use as he teaches our students and helps foster their love of music! 🎶

And, of course, a big thank you to our entire Sicomac PTO for making donations like this possible and continuing to support enriching experiences for our students. 💙

Let’s recap our Week of Respect at Sicomac! 💙

From kindness and inclusion to school spirit, we packed SO much into one amazing week last week!

🏈 Monday: Team Up for Kindness! We rocked our favorite sports team shirts and celebrated World Teachers’ Day with school-wide Staff Sweets to show our teachers just how much they mean to us!

💙 Tuesday: Be Bold, Wear Blue! We wore blue for Bullying Prevention Month and welcomed Abracabully for an engaging assembly! We learned what bullying looks like and, most importantly, how we can stand up for one another.

🍂 Wednesday: Cozy Up to Kindness! We bundled up in our favorite flannels and sweatshirts for a cozy day of kindness, which also included Walk/Bike to School Day!

😴 Thursday: Dreaming of Respect! We kept it comfy in our PJs all day long while remembering that respect starts with each of us.

🦅 Friday: Show Your School Spirit! We finished the week in our Sicomac colors and spirit wear! Our younger students also welcomed the fire department for an important lesson on fire safety.

And just like that, we wrapped up an incredible week and headed straight into our Harvest Festival on Friday afternoon! 🍁🎃

What a week of learning, laughter, kindness, and community! 💙 Every choice we make helps us soar together! 🦅

What a wonderful afternoon we had on Friday for our Annual Harvest Festival! 🍂💙

An event like this takes a village, and our Sicomac community showed up in the best way! A heartfelt thank you to our committee chairs, Alexis Savva, Kimberlie LaSalle and Melissa Barzola, for all the time, thought and effort they put into bringing this event to life. We’re so grateful to our parent volunteers, Sicomac staff, and all the families who helped make the afternoon so special, from decorating pumpkins and bringing festive decorations and hay bales to even providing a TRACTOR! 🚜

We’re also incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors for their support: Market Basket, ShopRite Wyckoff, The Fresh Grocer, Meyers House of Sweets, Hawthorne Theater (the Obaid Family), and Greenland Landscape (the Weiss Family). And thank you to to/gather coffee ☕️ and DJ Gino 🎶 for helping make the afternoon even more festive!

To everyone who helped make this such a fun fall afternoon for our Sicomac families, thank you!💙
