Today, the Sullivan Public Library Alliance (SUPLA) hosted its Legislative Brunch, bringing together library leaders, library champions, and elected officials to recognize the importance of public libraries and the communities they serve.

Thank you to Assemblymember Paula Elaine Kay; RCLS Executive Director Grace Riario; Jackie Broder, Library Champion from Mamakating Library; Laura Klein, Library Champion from Livingston Manor-Roscoe Library; Mary Paige Lang-Clouse, Director of the E.B. Crawford Library; and Marj Linko, Director of Liberty Public Library, for being part of this important gathering.

Public libraries are more than places to borrow books. They are vital community hubs that connect people to information, technology, educational opportunities, and resources for lifelong learning.

Bringing library advocates, leaders, and elected officials together helps highlight the value of our libraries and the essential role they play in strengthening communities. 💚

While this was last weekend, you can be assured Audrey was here in the rain, recording birds and crocheting away! Our discussion this week centered on how generous people have been with the yarn donations, and the beautiful stories attached to those donations, a heartfelt surprise that’s made the project that much more special. Friends of MEEC are upping their game this year. MEEC is in desperate need of staff so we are starting a campaign to raise funds through grants, raffles, and higher end fundraising events. We are fortunate to start off this campaign with a beautifully framed close up of a red fox kit, valued at $150, donated by renowned wildlife photographer, Kevin Kreischer Photography. We are so grateful for Kevin's generous donations over the years. If you know his work, you know his photos are always crisp and intimate. Kevin will be present again at our artisan fair on December 5th, when the drawing for this gem will be held. In the meantime, it will be on display at MEEC, where you can purchase tickets. You can also scan our PayPal QR code (below). Make sure you put Fox Kit Raffle in the memo or it'll just be marked as a donation.
