Eastern York Middle School

Today, The Middle invited our HS family, along with the entire maintenance and custodial crew, down to enjoy a good ol' fashioned cookout, and what a rousing success it was! Middle school teachers and staff prepped, grilled, and brought in a variety of delicious offerings to share with our friends "on top of the hill", as they continue to show their resilience and fortitude in the face of unexpected challenges. SPECIAL thanks to Wegmans of Lancaster, who graciously donated all the fresh burgers, hot dogs, buns, and cases of water for the event!
Heck, we had so much fun, maybe this will become an annual event! (minus the weather, please...)

IT'S STILL A GREAT DAY TO BE A KNIGHT!
After adjusting our original opening day plans, we were proud to officially welcome back our entire Eastern York staff this morning with a special gathering at the middle school!

It was a great morning to welcome our newest Golden Knights, recognize staff members for their years of dedicated service, and come together as one team as we prepare for another great year serving the students and families of Eastern York.

The past few days may have changed our plans, but they certainly haven’t changed who we are or what we’re here to do. It’s a GREAT DAY to be a Golden Knight!

Welcome to the Middle, Madison!

We are excited to introduce the Eastern York community to Ms. Madison Rambler! 👏👏🎉

Madison will be joining the team at Canadochly Elementary and Eastern York Middle School as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and we're excited to have her as part of the Eastern York family!

Madison is a graduate of Temple University (Undergraduate) and Lebanon Valley College (Graduate). She enjoys walking her dog (Apollo), working out, shopping, and trying new restaurants!

Here are a few fun facts about Madison:
She is getting married in September!
Her favorite Maple Donut is the Fruity Pebbles donut.
Her first job was at TJ Maxx.
Her favorite team is the Philadelphia Eagles.
She coaches an AAU basketball team.
If she had her own podcast, she would love to interview Paige Bueckers.
Her favorite word is "Whaaaaat?" 😄

Welcome to the Middle, Molly! 👏👏

We are excited to introduce the Eastern York community to Ms. Molly Vasilko ! 👏👏🎉

Molly will be joining the team at Eastern York Middle School as the new 8th-grade ELA teacher, and we're excited to have her as part of the Eastern York family!

Molly is a graduate of Saint Francis University (Undergraduate) and Slippery Rock University (Graduate). Outside of school, she enjoys birding, running, and playing video games.

Here are a few fun facts about Molly:
She has a pet Tortoiseshell Cat named Mooshie.
She has run 4 marathons.
She enjoys indie music.
If she could have an unlimited supply of one thing, it would be Nerds Gummy Clusters.
Her favorite animated movie is Encanto.
Molly was inspired by Dr. Neeley! He taught philosophy at Slippery Rock and was incredibly engaging and compassionate. He taught her a lot during her freshman year.

After joining our staff late in the spring, we are excited to see what he can do with a full year at the Middle! Welcome, Mr. Turnbull! 👏👏

We are excited to introduce the Eastern York community to Mr. Cael Turnbull! 👏👏🎉

Although Cael joined Eastern York during the spring of 2026, we're excited to officially introduce him to our community! Cael is an ELA teacher at EYMS. A graduate of Dallastown High School and Temple University, Cael is passionate about helping students grow. What he enjoys most about working in education is watching students figure things out, build confidence, and seeing just how much they've grown by the end of each school year.

Outside of the classroom, Cael coaches wrestling and enjoys golfing, working out, and spending time with friends and family. When it's time to get away, you'll most likely find him in the mountains. And if you're wondering where his sports loyalties lie, his answer is simple: every team from Philadelphia!

GETTING READY FOR 6TH GRADE AT THE MIDDLE

Eastern York Middle School will host an Open House this evening, beginning at 6pm in the EYMS gym for current Grade 5 students and their families. This is another great opportunity for students to become familiar with the building and begin getting excited for the transition to 6th grade in the 2026–2027 school year!

We look forward to seeing our future Knights at EYMS tonight!
