Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms possible today through late this evening as a cold front moves south and stalls over the eastern plains. Primary hazard will be strong winds up to 75 mph possible across the whole area, including central Wyoming. The threat for large hail up to 2 inches in diameter will mainly be confined to the Slight Risk region over western Nebraska.

Another active day is in store with most locations having a 20% to 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms from noon/12PM through at least 9PM, with lingering light showers possible past midnight. Thunderstorms will be capable of gusty 45 to 60 mph winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain. Localized flooding due to heavy rain is possible.

While rain chances are generally low after early this morning, IF storms do form tonight or late Tuesday, a few could become strong to severe with damaging winds & large hail. Stay weather aware!

Unsettled weather continues into Tuesday evening, with a few stronger storms possible if storms form tonight or late Tuesday. Dry conditions will dominate Wednesday and Thursday, but storm chances return Friday into Friday night. Monitor the forecast if you have outdoor plans.

There is a marginal to slight (1 to 2 out of 5) risk for severe storms this evening with the highest risk in two separate locations. Storms associated with an upper level disturbance are expected to develop late this afternoon into early this evening across south central SD. Another area of storms will move in from North Dakota late this evening into northeast SD and west central MN on a weak cold front. The main threats from any storms will be large hail and strong, gusty winds.

Expect above average temperatures and afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the high terrain today. Mountain storms continue each afternoon over the next few days and temperatures will gradually increase.

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop across southern Colorado this afternoon and evening. Thunderstorm chances will remain elevated through Thursday, with Wednesday looking like the wettest day. Locally heavy rainfall and lightning will be the primary storm risks.

Another round of monsoon thunderstorms will develop across southern Colorado today. Heavy rainfall could cause localized flash flooding, especially for burn scars, urban areas, and locations with saturated soil conditions. See weather.gov/flood for safety tips.

Another warm day expected, with highs in the 90s across the plains. Showers and thunderstorms will develop across the high terrain this afternoon before spilling onto the I-25 Corridor and plains. A few storms could become severe, with strong outflow winds and an isolated hail threat.
