Preschool tip from us teachers: 🍎

We know this seems tedious but we PROMISE it is so worth it. If you have ever seen a preschooler open their crayon box it can be an 💥 explosion💥 of crayons that fall on the floor and table- mixing with their friends. If we can’t figure out whose crayons are left behind that day they get thrown in our classroom crayon container and pretty soon everyone’s boxes have just a couple colors left. Initials or shortened names are fine too- then when us teachers find them on the floor, we can pop them right back into their own boxes! 🥰

Every Thursday morning is garbage day and as soon as they hear the truck rumbling up the street they take off running and their little faces peer through the fence to watch the excitement. Thank you 307 Disposal LLC for always making their morning. It is the little things! 🌱

🛑 Roll, Drop, and Discover! 🔵

Ever wonder what your little ones are learning when they play with balls and tubes? It looks like simple fun, but they are actually working hard as tiny scientists and engineers! Here is what is happening behind the scenes during this favorite classroom activity:

Early Physics: Kids learn about gravity, speed, and angles as they watch how fast a ball rolls down different slopes. 🛝
Problem-Solving: When a ball gets stuck, children use trial-and-error to figure out why and how to fix it. 🔍
Fine Motor Skills: Grasping balls and balancing them into narrow tube openings builds hand-eye coordination. 👋🏼
Social Skills: Sharing the tubes, taking turns, and building tracks together teaches valuable teamwork 👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼

Day 4 concluded our week of Construction Camp! 🚧

We “built” shape cities and watching their imaginations come to life was so fun. Their favorite activity was using our magnetic cranes to sort colors and letters. We had such a busy, exciting week of learning and PLAY! Thank you to everyone who joined us for camps this summer ☀️

We do still have spots available for Preschool this fall and we accept drop-ins daily! Come visit, come play! 🖍️

Day 3 of Construction Camp! 🛑 🔨

Today we learned the art of printing by using various nuts and bolts and art mediums (paint and ink pads) to transfer their outline to paper. They quickly learned some shapes and techniques worked better than others. We constructed skyscrapers from popsicle sticks and snap blocks seeing who could build the tallest tower without it falling. Engineering skills at their finest! Our biggest kids worked on writing construction words and forming their words and letters correctly. We can’t believe our week is almost over!

Day 2 of Construction Camp 🚧

Today we rainbow painted with construction vehicles- focusing on the different tire marks and watching what happened when the colors mixed. We had a multi sensory experience by building towers with “cement” aka shaving cream. The sight, the smell, the feel and the SQUISH made for quite the mess 😆 We used our fine motor and hand eye coordination to hammer tees into pool noodles and worked on constructing numbers. We can’t wait for tomorrow! ⚠️

👷🏽‍♂️ 🔨 Our first day of construction camp was BUSY! We had a bunch of new faces in today and ready to play. Our hard workers painted bricks by squishing their sponges HARD activating their shoulder muscles working on pre-writing skills, they used their fine motor skills to create construction cone names and their STEM skills as they built tall towers. They also had amazing social interactions and sensory explorations in our construction site, sensory table, playdoh tray and sand table.
