We provide a Christian preschool for 3 and 4 year olds; and serve students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Our curriculum has a Christian Bible-based focus and is taught by degreed Christian teachers. Per

sonalized education plans and small class sizes put our students on the best track for continuing education. Besides the fundamental core classes, a variety of electives, clubs, and athletics are available. Daily activiites include regular prayer, Bible classes and Christian music and songs. The vision of Liberty Christian Academy is to partner with families in producing Godly young people who consistently make the right choices and impact their world for Jesus. We are a discipleship school with a mission to ignite a passion for Jesus Christ in the heart of students, provide a quality Christian education, and offer opportunities for students to develop their talents to be used in a lifetime of Christian service. LCA was established in 2005 by a group of committed Chrisitian parents to meet the need for Christian Education in the area. The school is currently governed by an eight member board who are elected by LCA parents, guardians, grandparents, faculty, and staff. Our location is a convenient option for students from the four-county regions of St. Charles, Warren, Lincoln and Montgomery . Three seniors. One last run. One more banner.

The 2022 LCA volleyball team went undefeated in conference play. It was one of the most dominant seasons in program history. And it ended the way it had to end.

A third straight MCSAA State Championship.

The seniors carried this one.

Kylee Ball led the team in kills, blocks, and digs. Dominant on both sides of the net from start to finish.

Allie Meyer led the team in service aces, putting consistent pressure on opponents every time she stepped to the line.

Anna Meyer ran the offense, leading the team in assists and keeping the attack humming all season long.

Three seniors. Three different ways of winning. One team that peaked at exactly the right time.

The 2020 team broke through. The 2021 team proved it wasn't a fluke. The 2022 team finished it off in style. Three years. Three championships. A run that LCA volleyball won't forget for a long time.

LCA has won 20 state championships across multiple sports. in this series we're telling the story behind every one of them.

Johnny Queen doesn't just walk through the halls, he high fives his way through them. 🙌

Meet our Soaring Student, 5th grader Johnny "JQ" Queen! Kindness, big smiles, and a desire for excellence pretty much sum this kid up. He's always the first to help a classmate before anyone even asks.

When we told him he was this week's Soaring Student, his reaction said it all: "cool," he said, because he's "never gotten something like that before."

His teacher, Miss Meyer, doesn't hesitate when she talks about him. She calls him a "great role model" who has "a love for the Lord and is very helpful to his classmates and me."

JQ has been part of the LCA family since Kindergarten. He says LCA "has really nice teachers who teach important things," and he still talks about missing Mrs. Johnson's music class, one of his all time favorites.

Baseball is his favorite sport, basketball is close behind, and he's already counting down to middle school so he can join Track and Field.

But it's what he said next that we can't stop thinking about. Asked what he'd tell others, Johnny didn't hesitate:

"Even if you're going through hard things, trust in God and he will help you push through."

Every student is being raised for something.

A calling. A purpose only God could write for them.

That's what we're actually doing here.

Not just teaching subjects. Not just filling a school day.

We're helping our kids figure out who God made them to be, long before the world gets a say in it.

It's about making sure their roots go deep before their world gets wide.

Because a kid who knows Whose they are can handle whatever comes next.

College. Career. Marriage. Ministry. Wherever God calls them.

One championship changes a program.

But can you do it again?

That was the question hanging over the 2021 LCA volleyball team from the very first day of the season. They had won it all in 2020, the first volleyball title in school history. Now everyone was gunning for them.

The answer came in the form of a 18-5 season and a second straight MCSAA Division 1 State Championship.

Leading the way were Gracie Foran and Kylee Ball, two players who made an impact on both sides of the net all season long.

Foran was one of the team's most dominant players at the net, averaging 3.7 kills per set while finishing as the team's season leader in total blocks by nearly double digits. She also contributed 189 digs during the season, proving she could impact the game well beyond the front row.

Ball provided an all-around presence that showed up everywhere in the stat sheet. She averaged 3.4 kills per set, finished the season with 259 digs at 5.1 per set, took second on the team in blocks, and finished second in service aces with 66. Only Allie Meyer, who led the team with 78 aces, topped her there.

Together they helped lead a balanced, deep team that didn't just repeat. They made it look like the standard.

This was the middle chapter of what would become a 3-peat. But in 2021 nobody was thinking about 2022 yet. They were just focused on finishing what they started.

Meet Mrs. A! 🦅

Before she was "Mrs. Aulgur" to a room full of LCA 4th graders... Shelbi Aulgur spent the past two years substitute teaching at LCA. She got to see the staff up close, day in and day out.

What she saw stuck with her. "Many people say a place is 'like a family', but LCA actually IS a family."

That's what brought her back this year, this time as one of our two 4th grade teachers.

Outside the classroom, Shelbi is happiest outdoors. She loves nature and anything science related, and she lights up most when she gets to "understand how or why something works." She and her family live on a farm they affectionately call the Funny Farm.

Her favorite quote comes from Anne Frank: "I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles." Fitting, for a teacher about to share God's beautiful design in nature with a classroom of 4th graders.

Welcome to the LCA family, Mrs. A! 🦅

One title wasn't enough.

The 2019 Eagles came back to defend and did something this program had never done before. Back-to-back state championships.

But it didn't come easy.

Before the tournament even started, LCA had a statement to make. CAGSL had gone 16-0 in MAC play and was the clear favorite heading into the conference championship game.

Nobody was picking the Eagles.

Andrew Voss scored 46 points with 7 assists. Josh Dames dominated the paint with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Final score: LCA 85, CAGSL 65. Statement made.

Then came the state tournament. And then came Rivers of Life again.

LCA and Rivers of Life knew each other well by now. The Eagles had beaten them twice in the regular season. The third meeting was a different story entirely.

LCA found themselves down 6 points heading into the fourth quarter. Down double digits midway through.

A lesser team folds there. This one didn't.

They staged a furious comeback and took the lead. In the final seconds, Senior Captain Andrew Voss stepped to the free throw line and iced it. Two free throws.

Championship sealed. Final score: 66-62.

Voss finished with 40 points. A year after scoring 37 on a taped ankle to win it in overtime, he came back and did it again. For the season he averaged 29 points per game while shooting 38% from three and 75% from the free throw line.

Josh Dames averaged 15 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

And the 2018 team had set a school record averaging 69.4 points per game. The 2019 team broke it. 69.7.

These two teams, back to back, were something special.
