We are beyond proud to celebrate Mrs. Hemstetter, who has been named Maryland’s Principal of the Year!

Her leadership embodies Respect, Integrity, Success, and Empowerment making KCHS a place where students and staff thrive.

Congratulations, Mrs. Hemstetter! 💙💛 Thank you for all you do!

We are thrilled to announce that our very own principal, Mrs. Hemstetter, has been named Principal of the Year for the ENTIRE state of Maryland!

This prestigious award recognizes exceptional leadership, dedication, and the positive impact Mrs. Hemstetter has made on our school community.

There is no question that Mrs. Hemstetter dedicates so much of her time and energy into KCHS, often working late night and early mornings to do all she can for our staff and students.

Through visionary leadership, commitment to excellence, and a genuine passion for student success, our principal has not only transformed the educational experience at our school but has also set a shining example for educators across the state.

Mark Your Calendars – Community Resource Fair on March 22!

Join us in supporting our friends at the Kent County Middle School PTSA for their upcoming Community Resource Fair on Saturday, March 22, from 10 AM – 12 PM at the middle school! 🌟

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with local organizations, discover valuable resources, and support our community. Our Kent County High School PTSA will be there as volunteers AND we’re donating a sports-themed raffle basket for attendees! 🏀⚽🏈

📢 KCHS College & Career Fair – Just 2 Days Away!

Kent County High School’s College & Career Fair is happening this Friday, March 7, from 9 AM – 11:30 AM, giving students an incredible opportunity to explore their future education and career options! 🎓💼

This event brings together colleges, trade schools, and employers to help students plan their next steps after high school. Whether they’re considering college, technical training, or jumping into the workforce, this is a valuable chance to gather information and make connections.

✅ How You Can Help:

💙 Volunteer with PTSA – We’ll be on-site early to check in vendors, set up, and manage the vendor breakfast at 8 AM. If you’re available to help, please let us know!

📢 Encourage Your Students to Attend – Talk to your students about stopping by to ask questions and explore their options!

We’re so proud to have Modern Stone Age Kitchen as a proud sponsor of the 12th Annual Trojan Trample 5K! 🏃‍♂️💙 Not only do they support our community through events like ours, but they’re also making Chestertown a better place for cyclists!

They recently received an Honorable Mention from the League of American Bicyclists as a Bike Friendly Business, but they’re not stopping there! They’re looking to improve cycling access throughout Kent County and need the community’s help.

MSA has earned a Honorable Mention as a Bike Friendly Business . . . but we want to do more!

We’re honored to have received an Honorable Mention from the League of American Bicyclists as part of their Bike Friendly Business Awards—but to be honest, we were hoping for more.

As a restaurant, we’ve worked hard to support cyclists in our community, providing bike racks, nourishing food, and a welcoming space for riders. While we’re proud of this recognition, we received a detailed 12 page report outlining ways we can improve—not just at MSAK, but for the entire county. This is where the real opportunity lies.

We’d love to take the lead in making Chestertown a more bike-friendly place for everyone, and we can’t do it alone. If you’re passionate about cycling and want to help make a lasting impact, let’s work together!
