October is a great time to remember that connection matters. 💙

Supporting a teen’s mental health starts with open conversations, listening without judgment, and reminding them they don’t have to navigate challenges alone.

ParentGuidance.org offers free, therapist-created resources for families, including:
✔️ On-demand courses
✔️ Parent coaching
✔️ “Ask a Therapist” opportunities
✔️ Resources focused on supporting youth mental health

Throughout October, ParentGuidance.org is hosting several virtual sessions on today’s most important parenting topics. Families are welcome to attend as many sessions as they’d like, and parent coaching is available at no cost.

📅 Mark your calendar: On October 27 at 7:00 PM Eastern Time, parents can participate in a live “Ask a Therapist” session and submit questions related to parenting and their child’s mental health.

Learn more and register at ParentGuidance.org.

As Su***de Prevention Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that support, connection, and kindness matter every day—not just this month. Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for helping create a school where every person feels seen, valued, and supported.

If you’re struggling, you don’t have to face it alone. Reach out to a trusted adult, school counselor, social worker, or another caring person. In the United States, call or text 988 for free, confidential support available 24/7. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.

In Kent and surrounding counties, you can also contact Mobile Crisis Services at 888-407-8018. Licensed counselors and therapists are available 24/7 to provide immediate support and assistance.

As we move beyond September, let’s continue to listen, check in, speak up, and remind one another: You matter, and help is available. 💜

So proud of KCPS for being recognized as one of Maryland’s top four LEAs for reducing chronic absenteeism since 2019! 💙💛

You have to show up first to learn, grow, and succeed—and our students are doing just that. They are feeling the positive culture, getting connected, and wanting to be in school.

Proud of the growth. Ready to keep climbing from here! 💙💛
