We also offer workshops, webinars, and other educational opportunities that help producers build their farming, business, and marketing skills. Organic Certification and Transition--One of the oldest and most respected programs in the nation, OEFFA's Certification program ensures that farmers and processors meet organic's high standards, which protect farmers, consumers, and the environment. To help farmers navigate the transition to organic, OEFFA has dedicated education staff, resources, and services. Farm Policy Matters--OEFFA advocates for state and federal policies that protect and benefit sustainable agriculture, research and education, and the public's right to know. Working with our members, we give voice to concerned citizens and ecological family farmers who are safeguarding the environment and providing us with healthy and nutritious food choices. There's really a lot more to Bluebird Organic Farm than can be captured here.

The Harrison County property is valued at about $250,000 and offers decades of proven production success and soil health practices. It is ready for someone new to carry on its legacy.

Owner Mick Luber has already worked with a lawyer to draw up three options: land contract, lease-to-own, and outright buyout.

Learn more about the property and the opportunities that come with it by visiting ohiofarmlink.org, creating a profile, and sending Mick a message.

We held Bowyer Farm Agrivoltaics Tour at Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden's Bowyer Farm over the weekend, checking out their 140-acre agrivoltaic solar grazing site. Hundreds of sheep are rotationally grazed under a commercial solar array here.

A big thank you to our hosts/shepherds Amanda Wilson and Brady Kirwan from Ohio Solar Grazing, as well as Farm-To-Power Ohio, for the great tour.

We're hitting the final stretch of our farm tour series. Check out what's next on the calendar at oeffa.org/farmtours 🌱

Nutrient density invites us to consider how food is grown and how those farming practices influence the nutrients available in our diets.

Since the advent of industrial agriculture, many have traded nutrition for higher yields, and we've ended up with crops that offer fewer vitamins, minerals, and macronutrients.

Fortunately, recent research has shown that when we optimize soil health, we end up with foods that are more nutrient-dense and better for our health.

Food for thought! 🍴

Our team has a lot of conversations with organic farmers, and lately, many of them have noted how often they're talking with consumers who are misinformed or skeptical of the organic label.

We took this feedback and created a handout to detail the ongoing reliability, enforcement, and effectiveness of the USDA Organic label.

The handout is printable and shareable. It comes in multiple sizes so you can order copies for your market booth, share it on social media or in your newsletter, or post it wherever you reach your people.

Stefanie Walden is a non-farming landowner seeking a potential tenant or business partner for her family's 100-acre property in Cynthiana, Kentucky.

The land has been mostly fallow for the past five years, with some of the acres previously tilled for to***co and corn. They have been working toward transitioning to organic, and soil reports say about 37 acres are good ground.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in organic farming. The Waldens work in agriculture and can help a new tenant with in-kind support.

If you're interested, create a profile at ohiofarmlink.org, check out Stefanie's listing, and send her a message!
