It is Football Night in Worthington!

The Thomas Worthington Cardinals head to Worthington Kilbourne Wolves for a great night of high school football and a chance to celebrate two schools that make our community proud.

Good luck to the players, coaches, marching bands, cheerleaders, student sections, families, fans and everyone who will be part of the night! Bring the energy, compete with pride, and most of all, represent Worthington well.

Two schools. One community. One great night under the lights.

The Mentor Mindset in action: Karmyn Metzger.

Every day, Karmyn creates a classroom where students know they are valued, respected, and supported—and also expected to learn, grow, and challenge themselves.

She believes her students are capable of remarkable things. And because she believes it, they begin to believe it, too.

That’s the Mentor Mindset.

Our School Community Engagement Director Toya Spencer hosts a video series for young Worthington students called Ms. Toya Reads.

In an early episode, she shared the story of Dolly Parton and her vision for the Imagination Library which is a program built on the simple, powerful idea that every child should have access to books and the opportunity to fall in love with reading.

With Dolly's passing, we decided to share this segment as a reminder of what can happen when we invest in children, nurture their imaginations, and make reading a part of every child’s journey.

Click the link and enjoy this trip down memory lane. You can also share it with a young reader in your life.

As we head into the 2026–2027 school year, Ohio’s new attendance requirements under House Bill 96 bring some important changes for students and families.

In his latest blog, Superintendent Trent Bowers explains what the new law means for Worthington Schools, including when families can expect to hear from us, how we’ll track attendance, and how we’ll continue to support students and families when challenges arise.

Our commitment remains the same: Be Kind to Kids. That means creating welcoming schools, holding high expectations, communicating openly, and working alongside families to help every student be present, connected, and ready to learn.

A Walk Down Memory Lane...

This weekend, the Class of 1966 celebrated their 60th class reunion—and as part of the festivities, they had the opportunity to tour the new Thomas Worthington High School.

One classmate, John Chrystal, took a special walk down memory lane and discovered his State Championship wrestling photo from his days at TWHS!

The Mentor Mindset in action: Laurie Barr.

Every day, Laurie personally greets students before they enter her classroom. She builds relationships first—and then sets the bar high.

When students want to give up, she reminds them: “You can do hard things.”

Laurie shows us that relationships and high expectations go hand in hand.

That’s the Mentor Mindset.
