🚨ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT🚨

Katie Barker is a proud WHS alumni that graduated in 2019!!

Katie has been busy since graduating….After graduating from WHS, I earned my bachelors degree in environmental science, and worked as a consultant for oil and gas companies for a little while, before becoming an AP environmental science teacher at Pearland High School!!!

I’m so grateful for all of the wonderful teachers that helped inspire me to be the teacher I am today. (especially Señora Salazar and Ms. Paden. Yall remind me every day of the kind of teacher that has a lasting impact on all my students.)

We love to see how our ex students thrive when they leave WHS!! We are especially proud to see they have become educators!!! WHS is very proud of you!!! Keep it up and who knows…maybe you’ll find your way back one day!!! 💙🐾💙🐾💙

🚨Bulldog Brag🚨

Last first day of undergrad. 😭

WHS Alumni, Hope Pirkle is starting her last semester at TAMU-CC with a BS in Microbiology. She’s pushed through and is graduating a semester early in December (at 20!), serving on the Student Conduct Board and as VP of the Islanders for Access Club, while working in the Student Disability Office and as a laboratory assistant in the Marine Genomics Lab. Hope also graduated from WHS a year early!!!🙄

She’s having such a cool experience doing DNA research…she is currently working on sequencing DNA from a very rare catfish that lives underground in the Edwards Aquifer.

Looking forward to seeing what is next for her!! She’s always been amazing whatever she’s made her mind to do! We are very proud of you!!
