Jonas has been warming up for this weekend's Cougar Pit Party! 🐾🎉

Join us Saturday, Sept. 26, from 12-3 p.m. for our new campus tailgating tradition as we cheer on the volleyball, men's soccer, and women's field hockey teams during their home games. 🏐⚽🏑

The Pit Party will feature food trucks, free swag, tabling by registered student organizations, halftime dance performances, and a beer garden for those over the age of 21.

When season 51 of Survivor premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 23, Clarkies will see a familiar face.

Eric Macksoud ’13 is among the castaways marooned on the islands of Fiji, competing for a chance to win $1 million on the hit CBS program.

A mental health counselor who grew up in Rhode Island and now lives in Connecticut, Macksoud says he's been a longtime fan of competition reality TV.

“I like the idea of people overcoming challenges,” he said. “I just think that is what the human experience is all about, and I want nothing more than to celebrate that.”

Clark and the Worcester Public Schools have formalized a decades-long partnership to improve educational opportunities for Worcester students, support educators, and create pathways to college and careers.

Yesterday, the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Claremont Academy that establishes a framework for continued collaboration across teaching, learning, research, professional development, and community engagement.

“We have been part of Worcester for nearly a hundred and forty years, and over that time, we have learned a simple but important truth: The future of Clark is inseparable from the future of Worcester. When Worcester thrives, Clark thrives," Clark President David Fithian said.

For over two decades, Clark Physics Professor Arshad Kudrolli has studied the flow of fluids and gases that erode and reshape the Earth underground.

His foundational research contributes to identifying new energy and water sources, preventing human-induced earthquakes during fracking, and storing carbon beneath the land, allowing industries to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Now, funded by a two-year, $125,000 New Directions grant from American Chemical Society's Petroleum Research Fund, Kudrolli will introduce AI — specifically, “physics-informed neural networks” — to develop models that will be tested via physical experiments in the lab.

Professor Arshad Kudrolli is using “physics-informed neural networks” to develop a more efficient, accurate process to reconstruct and predict changes beneath the Earth.

Stephen DiRado has been a fixture at Clark — and in Worcester — for nearly 45 years.

He started teaching photography at the University in 1982, and a year later made a decision that would ultimately shape his career. He began searching for a community where he could connect with people, earn their trust, and produce a unified body of work — and found it at Bell Pond, a park at the top of Worcester’s Belmont Hill.

He spent the summer of 1983 photographing the people he met there; the resulting photos are on display at the Kapow Gallery in New York City and have been collected in a new book. “Bell Pond,” DiRado says, “became the micro-environment where I found purpose as an artist.”
