Innovation meets impact at the Mas Academy Apps for Good Fair!

Students teamed up to design apps and websites that tackle real issues in their communities — using creativity, technology, and collaboration to make a difference. From problem-solving to pitching their ideas, these future changemakers showed what’s possible when learning connects to purpose. Big shout out to Ms. Taricco for her countless hours of support and guidance with the students to make this day possible.

We are incredibly proud to recognize three Mass Academy students for their exceptional accomplishments in technology and computer science:

Naaisha Agarwal and Nichelle Thinagar
Recipients of the 2026 NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing – Massachusetts Winner Award, honoring their talent, leadership, and passion for computing. As award winners, they join a national community of young technologists and gain access to scholarships, internships, and other opportunities.

Abhiraam Venigalla
Named the 2025 Congressional App Challenge winner for Massachusetts’s Second District, Abhiraam developed NeuroLens, a deep‑learning app that detects and analyzes brain tumors from MRI scans—an innovation with real‑world impact on healthcare accessibility and diagnosis.

These students exemplify creativity, persistence, and purpose in computing, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they’re using technology to make a difference. Great job!

Yesterday was an great day at Mass Academy! We hosted a super successful blood drive and had 25 out of 28 donations come through—huge thanks to our incredible students, staff, parents, and members of the WPI community who showed up to give back.

We’re so grateful to the Rhode Island Blood Center for making the trip to Worcester, and a special shoutout to Nurse Alex and our Red Cross Club for organizing everything and making the day run so smoothly.
